General Mechanical Technician apprenticeship – Swiss Federal Certificate of Competence (EFZ)

Your field of activity

As a General Mechanical Technician, you manufacture different parts, specialist tools and devices for production. You assemble devices, apparatus, machines or plants, assist with commissioning, planning and supervision of production processes and you also carry out maintenance work. Working together with other specialist staff, you develop construction solutions, and build and test prototypes.

Prerequisites for this apprenticeship:

• Interest in machine work and metalwork
• Technical understanding, spacial perception
• Manual dexterity and ability to grasp new concepts quickly
• Precise, thorough and diligent manner of working
• Good high school certificate or very good vocational school certificate
